Radial announces the Duplex mk4 Stereo Direct Box

Vancouver BC: Radial Engineering is pleased to announce that they have upgraded the Radial JDI Duplex stereo direct box to enhance its connectivity by now including -10dB RCA connectors, and +4dB XLR inputs. This is of particular interest to the AV systems engineers that are constantly having to adapt system interfaces 'on-the-fly' when setting up for events where source equipment is always changing.

The Radial JDI Duplex is equipped with two premium Jensen Audio transformers for unmatched sonic performance. Jensen Transformers have long been noted for the warm Bessel curve and amazing frequency response. Ruler flat from 10Hz to 40kHz, and with virtually zero phase distortion, the JDI Duplex is adept at handling excessive loads without flinching. Further, because of the 100% isolation, one enjoys greater than 90dB of common mode noise rejection that eliminates problems such as buzz and hum caused by ground loops. This makes the JDI Duplex a great choice for interfacing audio from video sources which invariably tend to introduce system noise.

Housed in a 14guage steel welded I-beam chassis, all connectors and switches are protected by a unique book-end design. The input panel is equipped with a pair of 1/4" and RCA inputs and thru-puts. A unique Merge function provides passive mix to convert the in/thru routing into a stereo to mono mix function; a valuable channel saver for large keyboard rigs and multiple audio sources. Each channel is also outfitted with a 10kHz low-pass filter that is used to eliminate high-frequency system noise and a 15dB pad for greater source control. A switch on each channel also allows the user to select the XLR male input. This simultaneously introduces a 20dB pad to allow high output +4dB line level devices to interface into snake systems and splitters without requiring an external attenuator. The rear panel features the XLR inputs and outputs along with polarity reverse and ground lift.

Suggested retail price is $350 USD.
