"Radial DIs sonically blow away all passive DIs, as expected, but they also blow away all active DIs in their price range and also some that are quite a bit more expensive. A very pleasant surprise!"

Radial ProAV Multimedia DI

ProAV1™ and ProAV2™ Multimedia DI

R800 1112 ProAV1 mono DI
R800 1115 ProAV2 stereo DI

  • 'Swiss Army knife' direct box for multi-media
  • Easy to use, ultra-quiet passive design
  • Eliminates ground loops that cause hum and buzz
  • Handles huge transients without distortion

The Radial ProAV1 and ProAV2 are passive direct boxes specifically developed with the audio-video integrator in mind. The ProAV1 features a variety of stereo inputs that are summed mono via a resistive mixer, greatly simplifying signal management. The ProAV2 delivers two discrete channels where full stereo functionality is required.

To eliminate the need for various adaptors, both units are equipped with a 'Swiss Army' array of connectivity options including 1/4" inputs for instruments, RCA and 3.5mm (1/8") connectors for CD players, iPods, video decks and computers. The ProAV1 also features a female XLR input for interfacing equipment with +4dB professional signal levels. The front panel connectors can also be used as thru-puts to allow multiple patch points.

Custom wound Eclipse ET-DB2 transformers are able to withstand exceptionally hot signal levels while maintaining linearity from 20Hz to 20kHz. The resulting smooth Bessel curve is warm and natural, making them particularly adept at handling digital sources that can sound harsh. Transformer isolation further benefits by eliminating hum and buzz caused by ground loops or DC offset problems.

These features combine to make the ProAV1 and ProAV2 'must have' problem solvers for the audio-visual technician's tool kit.

Using the Radial ProAV with a Standard DI for Instruments
Standard DI For Instruments
The ProAV1 works just like standard direct boxes for passive and active musical instruments like guitars, basses, and keyboards. You can thru-put the signal to an on-stage amp while transformer isolation keeps things quiet.
ProAV2: Stereo In ~ Stereo Out
ProAV2: Stereo In ~ Stereo Out
The ProAV2 operates in true stereo (dual mono) making it ideal for stereo devices like laptops and DVD players. Just like the ProAV1 you can connect with phone, RCA and 3.5mm jacks, quick and adapter-free.
