Radial TankDriver™

  • 500 series module for spring reverbs
  • Connects reverb tank to your recording system
  • Separate shimmer and boom controls
  • Add authentic spring reverberation into your mix

The Radial TankDriver is a unique 500 series module that enables you to connect the spring reverb in your old Fender Twin® amp to your recording system. This simple to use device takes the balanced signal from a pre-recorded track and converts it to a special unbalanced signal optimized for spring reverbs. Two drive settings are offered to address low and high sensitivity reverb tanks.

Front panel controls include a wet-dry mix that lets you precisely balance the amount of reverb you want. Separate shimmer and boom controls let you adjust treble and bass for added tonal control. Connection is easy using the two front panel ¼" connectors. Simply add a dual ¼" to RCA cable and you are set to go!

And 'go' is exactly what will happen next… Spring reverbs are often prized due to the unique tone they generate and the random reverberation that is impossible to recreate in the digital domain. You will soon find yourself trying various reverb tanks, exploring new sounds and as you develop your favorite settings and effects. The TankDriver makes it all possible!

The Radial TankDriver… More fun than a 50mm cannon!

TankDriver™ - Applications
TankDriver with Spring Reverb
If you have an old amplifier that is not working, you can pull the spring reverb out of the box and set it on a table. Connecting to and from the spring reverb and the TankDriver is easy and most spring reverbs are clearly marked with input and output.

TankDriver with Fender Twin
Simply disconnect the two RCA connectors going to the spring reverb and connect the TankDriver as described above. Different amps will often have different reverb tanks. Smaller tanks will have a shorter decay. Have fun… experiment!
Stereo set-up
For even more fun… take a pre-recorded stereo track and send it through two TankDrivers. This retains the full stereo effect and lets you alter the reverb tank to create unique spatial effects. Try it on a drum track and then mix it in… it's wild!
