What tube is shipped in the Plexitube?
it is typically a Ruby Tube 12AX7, however, this can change due to supply.

What does the tube do inside the Plexitube?
The tube is used to generate harmonics and warm up the signal path. The tube is combined with three gain stages to create the Plexitube’s rich distortion.

What happens if I change the tube to another brand?
Changing the tube will only affect the sound slightly.

How often should the tube be replaced?
The tube employed within the Plexitube can last upwards of 10 years. We suggest changing the tube only if you find the tone is lacking or the output is down from when you first plugged it in.

How do I change the tube?
Complete instructions with pictures are provided in the Plexitube user guide.

Does the Plexitube come with a power supply?
A 15-Volt DC 400 mA power adaptor is supplied.

Where can I purchase an extra power supply?
You can purchase an additional power supply at any authorized Radial dealer.

Are there any manufacturers that make multi-power supply bricks that output 15V?
Yes! The Cioks DC10 has a 15V outlet for Tonebone pedals.

Can I use the n18V output from my power brick?
You can, just note that this may shorten the lifespan of the internal voltage regulators. If you choose to do so, make sure you supply the Plexitube with the correct polarity and sufficient current to do the job.

Can I use the Plexitube with my bass?
Absolutely! However, when using a distortion pedal with bass, it is typically preferred to run it in parallel in order to retain the full low-end frequencies of the instrument. The Mix-Blender will allow you to mix in the desired amount of distortion while also maintaining the original bass tone.

I’ve recently noticed a loss of signal on channel 2 when using the Plexitube, is there something wrong with the pedal?
Channel 2 of the Plexitube is normalled through the insert jack on the pedal. If the insert jack is typically unused it may need to be exercised from time to time. Simply insert and remove a standard guitar plug a handful of times and the problem should go away.
