Amp simulators are more popular than ever, but they present a unique set of problems for guitar and bass players who want to interface them with a PA system. The image above helps to illustrate what typical line level looks like versus line level while using the Radial Highline. While amp sims can produce line-level outputs, they often have ¼" unbalanced connectors that aren't designed for long cable runs, resulting in hum and buzz from ground loops when connected directly to the PA.⁠

The Highline addresses these issues by inserting a 1:1 transformer into the signal path, which provides isolation to reduce noise, protects against phantom power, and keeps the signal at line level for direct connection to the PA system.⁠
