Radial Engineering Guitar Products: Built For Players

January 20th, 2025

Radial Engineering has built our legacy on top-quality pro audio equipment. Our routing Solutions, DI boxes, and signal optimization products are found on nearly every stage and in every studio worldwide.

Because of these products’ success, they can sometimes overshadow our musician-focused offerings. So, in this article, we’ll look at our guitar-specific gear that helps players get the best tone in any situation.

From acoustic guitar preamps to reamping devices and guitar-specific Direct boxes, we will break them all down by application. Music is the heartbeat of everything we do, and this is the gear for those who make it.

PZ Acoustic Guitar Preamp Pedals

Piezo pickups offer a convenient way to amplify acoustic guitars. Still, they often lack the warmth and natural resonance of a microphone. Radial’s PZ preamp series addresses this challenge. Whether you need a compact pedal for your pedalboard or a full-featured preamp for your studio, these preamps ensure your tone sounds natural while shining in any performance or recording.

PZ-Pro

The flagship of the PZ series, the PZ-Pro is a dual-input preamp with extensive control and versatility for acoustic guitarists. With two independent channels featuring full parametric EQ, an assignable effects loop, a 40V phantom-power-equipped XLR input for microphones, and comprehensive feedback control, the PZ-Pro is the ultimate tool for optimizing your acoustic tone.

PZ-Pre

The PZ-Pre distills many of the PZ-Pro’s features into a more streamlined design. Its dual inputs allow for easy switching between instruments or blending two pickups. It also gives you a variable and foot-switchable boost, semi-parametric EQ, and feedback-fighting filters.

PZ-Deluxe

1The PZ-Deluxe is an even more compact, powerful acoustic preamp with the comprehensive control you need. You’ll still find a full EQ, built-in boost, and a specialized PZB gain stage to tame piezo harshness. Its Radial DI output, ease of use, and versatile features make it an ideal choice for live performance and studio recording.

AC-Driver

The AC-Driver is a pedalboard-friendly acoustic preamp that delivers a natural and dynamic amplified tone. Though small, it’s still a studio-quality option with a Class-A buffer circuit ensuring a pristine signal. There’s also a variable notch filter and phase switch to help eliminate feedback whenever you hit the stage.

Guitar-Specific DI Boxes

Whether you’re a gigging professional or playing your guitar in your home studio, a great DI box is essential. That’s why we offer guitar-specific DIs to address the common issues players face –  piezo harshness, bulky equipment, and impedance mismatches in our signal chain. We designed these DI boxes for you and always keep your tone intact.

StageBug SB-1

The StageBug SB-1 is an ultra-compact, active DI box. Because no one likes lugging extra gear, we made it small enough to fit on any pedalboard or in any gig bag pocket. Convenient and easy to use, it’s a must-have addition to every guitarist’s rig.

StageBug SB-4

The StageBug SB-4 gives acoustic guitarists the same compact DI convenience as the SB-1 but with an optimized circuit for piezo pickups. The DI’s active circuitry tames piezo harshness and “quack.” It even features a quick and easy high-pass filter to remove unwanted low-end rumble and fight feedback.

PZ-DI

Another piezo-optimized DI, the PZ-DI adds several features, making it a favorite of acoustic guitarists. Its adjustable input impedance accommodates a variety of pickup types. You get fine control over its onboard hi- and lo-cut filters. Furthering the PZ-DI’s feature set are phase and -15 dB pad switches for troubleshooting gain and feedback issues on the fly.

Electric Guitar Amp Simulators and DIs:

The following products offer the best DI flexibility while retaining your guitar amplifier’s signature sound. Capturing your amp’s tone while providing a clean, isolated signal for the PA or recording interface ensures a powerful and present guitar sound without the hassle of added microphones, stands, and cables.

JDX 48

The JDX 48 connects your amp head and speaker cabinet while emulating the sound of a well-placed microphone on your speaker. It provides a balanced feed for Front Of House (FOH) or your recording interface and achieves a consistent, natural amplifier tone. Powered by either 48V phantom power or a dedicated DC power supply, you even have power flexibility and redundancy for any situation.

JDX Direct-Drive Amp Simulator & DI Box

JDX Direct-Drive

The JDX Direct-Drive blends the best of Raidal’s famed analog signal processing with the tone of a great amp modeler AND the convenience of a top-quality DI. Perfect for guitarists who want an all-in-one, grab-and-go solution, it achieves three realistic amplifier tones (4×12 half-stack, a British tube head, and a clean twin combo) without needing a physical amplifier on stage. It is the perfect pedal for guitarists who want to travel light and get consistent amp tones in any environment.

Amplifier and Cabinet Switchers

This is our comprehensive range of amplifier and cabinet switchers that provide better flexibility and control over your rig. Whether you want to switch between amplifiers with the push of a button, combine multiple cabinets, or create a redundant backup system, these switchers deliver.

Cab-Link

The Cab-Link is a passive speaker cabinet merger that safely connects a single amplifier output to two speaker cabinets simultaneously. With support for both series and parallel configurations and a variable line output for further routing flexibility, the Cab-Link is a simple and effective way to expand your sonic palette and achieve a bigger sound.

Shotgun

Perfect for large touring rigs and recording studios, the Shotgun is a compact guitar-level signal buffer and splitter that can simultaneously drive up to four amplifiers. Its isolated outputs eliminate the buzz and hum caused by ground loops. In contrast, buffered outputs and easy phase alignment switches prevent signal loss and ensure consistent tone across all connected amplifiers.

Twin-City and BigShot ABY Pedals

The Twin-City and BigShot are great-sounding and easy-to-use ABY pedals that instantly switch between or combine two amplifiers.

The Twin-City’s active circuitry offers an optimally buffered signal with noise-free switching. Its onboard Drag Control recreates the natural load of your pickups, preserving your guitar’s natural tone and feel.

The BigShot ABY is a true-bypass ABY switcher. Its transformer-isolated outputs eliminate ground loops, while its true-bypass design ensures your guitar’s tone remains unaffected.

Switchbone V2

The Switchbone V2 takes the ABY idea to the next level. Along with its onboard Drag Control and variable and foot-switchable boost, its Slingshot feature can switch your amp’s channels or onboard effects. You can even use the tuner output to connect a third amp for even more tonal options. And it does it all with silent switching while eliminating ground loops.

Pedal & Effects Loop Switchers

Managing a complex pedalboard can be a challenge. Radial Engineering’s effects loop switchers provide a solution with seamless integration and flexible routing options. Whether you want to switch between different effects chains, remove noisy pedals from your signal path, or create unique blended sounds, they give you the control and flexibility you need.

BigShot EFX

The BigShot EFX is a true-bypass effects loop switcher that creates two independent effects loops and lets you access them as needed. You can switch between different effects combinations, remove unwanted pedals from your signal path when not in use, and even use one loop as a dedicated mute switch for silent tuning.

Mix-Blender

The Mix-Blender combines an instrument mixer with an effects loop on your pedalboard. With it, you can blend two instruments or effects, creating unique textures and soundscapes. It also features a wet/dry blend control, fine-tuning the balance between your dry signal and your effects.

Electric Guitar Line Drivers

Our electric guitar line drivers are the perfect solution for guitarists who need to send their signal over long distances. Whether you’re connecting to an off-stage amplifier, recording with your amp in a separate live room, or integrating a remote pedalboard, they ensure pristine audio quality without sacrificing tone.

SGI

The SGI is a high-performance line driver that transmits your guitar signal up to 100 meters (300 feet) without noise or signal degradation. Its discrete Class-A circuitry and Drag control for maintaining ideal guitar pickup impedance, ensures a natural, transparent tone reaches its destination.

SGI-44

Designed specifically for use with the JX-44 guitar and amp switcher, the SGI-44 extends your reach further, allowing you to connect a remote pedalboard or effects loop without compromising signal quality. Its bidirectional send and receive capabilities provide added flexibility for complex signal routing scenarios.
